Streaks & HP
Streaks and HP are two ways Scope tracks your habit consistency. Streaks reward consecutive completions, while HP reflects your overall habit health and directly affects your soldier's strength in battle.
Streaks
Streaks measure how many consecutive intervals you've completed a habit without missing.
How Streaks Work
- Good habits: a streak counts consecutive periods where you met or exceeded the completion goal
- Bad habits: a "free from" streak counts consecutive periods where you had zero completions (you successfully resisted)
Streak Rules
| Rule | Description |
|---|---|
| Grace period | The current (incomplete) interval never breaks a streak. If your daily habit isn't done yet today, your streak still stands — you still have time |
| Interval-aware | Streaks only count periods under the current interval type. Switching from daily to weekly resets your streak to 0 |
| Show-day aware | Only days where the habit is scheduled count. Missing a non-show day doesn't affect anything |
| Current streak | Counts backward from today. As long as every past interval period is complete, the streak continues |
| Longest streak | The app tracks your all-time longest streak separately, including which interval type it was achieved under |
Example: Daily Habit (Mon–Fri)
| Day | Completed? | Streak |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Yes | 1 |
| Tuesday | Yes | 2 |
| Wednesday | No (missed) | 0 (broken) |
| Thursday | Yes | 1 |
| Friday | Yes | 2 |
| Saturday | Not shown | 2 (unchanged — not a show day) |
| Sunday | Not shown | 2 (unchanged) |
| Monday | In progress | 2 (grace period — still time) |
HP
Every habit has an HP percentage (0–100%) that represents its overall health. HP is calculated from your entire completion history, starting at 50% when the habit is created.
How HP Changes
For good habits:
| Event | HP Change |
|---|---|
| Logging any completion on a show day | +5% |
| Fully meeting the completion goal | +3% bonus |
| Missing a past show day entirely | -5% |
For bad habits (inverted):
| Event | HP Change |
|---|---|
| Logging a completion (giving in) | -10% (the demon grows stronger) |
| Avoiding on a past show day | +5% (you resisted) |
HP is always capped between 0% and 100%.
What HP Means
| Scenario | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Good habit at high HP (e.g., 85%) | You're consistently completing this habit. Your soldier enters battles near full health |
| Good habit at low HP (e.g., 20%) | You've been missing frequently. Your soldier is weak in battles |
| Bad habit at low HP | You've been successfully resisting. The demon is weak |
| Bad habit at high HP | You've been giving in. The demon is strong |
HP in Battle
A habit's HP percentage directly maps to its soldier or demon's starting hit points in battle. A soldier whose habit is at 60% HP enters combat with only 60% of their maximum health.
TIP
This creates a direct, tangible consequence for habit consistency. Keep your habits healthy to keep your soldiers fighting fit.
