Creating Tasks
Tasks are created directly from the Lifeline — the central hub for all your task planning.
How to Create a Task
- Navigate to the time period where you want the task (e.g., a specific day, week, month, or year) in the Lifeline
- Tap the task creator at the bottom of the task list within any period card
- Type a task name and press Enter or tap the confirm button
The task is automatically assigned to the time period you're currently viewing. It inherits the currently selected project (personal by default).
Quick Task Creator
The inline task creator is designed for speed:
- A single text field with a confirm button — type and submit
- Name is required (the only mandatory field)
- Default priority: Normal
- Default difficulty: 1 (Easy)
- The task is created immediately and appears in the list
You can edit all other properties after creation from the task detail page.
Editing a Task
From the task detail page, you can edit:
- Name and description — changes are saved automatically with a short debounce delay
- Priority and difficulty — changes take effect immediately
- Deadline / time period — see Changing a Task's Deadline
- Parent task — change or remove the parent relationship

Encryption status is determined by the project at creation time and cannot be changed afterward.
Daily Task Workflow
- Open the Lifeline daily view for today
- Tap the task creator and type your first task
- Repeat for each task you need to do today
- Work through tasks during the day, tapping checkboxes as you complete them
- Watch your gold and XP grow with each completion
