Onboarding Checklist

The checklist is a short to-do list of milestones that introduces you to the app's main features. Completing each entry grants a small one-time gold and XP bonus and surfaces a corner of the app you might not have found yet.

Your first steps on the journey

What the Checklist Covers

The checklist is a structured tour of Scope's key systems. Typical entries:

  • Create your first habit - your entry point to everything.
  • Log your first habit completion - unlocks your first quest pass.
  • Complete your first adventure quest - introduces you to the daily combat loop.
  • Equip your first item - teaches the equipment flow.
  • Buy your first item from the shop - first taste of gold spending.
  • Defeat another player in the arena - first PvP victory.
  • Add your first item to the wishlist - the real-world reward loop.
  • Write your first journal entry - unlocks AI stat analysis and arena tickets.

Completing Checklist Items

Each item unlocks automatically the first time you meet its condition. There's no claim button, no manual trigger. The moment you log your first habit, the "Create your first habit" entry flips from pending to completed, the reward is granted, and a confirmation appears.

Most entries are satisfied the first time you use the feature - no extra effort required beyond actually using the app.

Rewards for Completion

Each completed entry grants:

  • A small amount of gold - usually enough for a cheap shop item or an extra arena ticket.
  • A small amount of avatar XP - a few levels' worth spread across the whole checklist.

The rewards are modest individually. Taken together, working through the full checklist is a real early-game boost that funds your first shop purchases and gets your avatar leveled up a bit.

Why the checklist exists

New players often don't know where to start. Scope has a lot of surfaces - habits, tasks, goals, journals, quests, arena, dungeons, shop, wishlist, leaderboard - and throwing all of them at you at once would be overwhelming. The checklist curates the order: "do these first, in roughly this sequence." Each reward is small enough that it feels like an honest nudge rather than a bribe.

Revisiting the Checklist

Once every entry is completed, the checklist retires gracefully from the main UI. Each entry stays marked as done in your account record - you can revisit the completed checklist later if you want to see what you've accomplished, but it stops prompting you.
